I used to hide behind the facade of offering bodywork, hands-on only. The fact is I am unapologetically in my 50s now, and was born seeing and feeling so much more than most people, and have played deeply with these gifts through puberty, break-ups, health bombs, and more. This has been a lifelong journey of science, quantum physics, and living with my raw human-ness. When I started my practice, I honestly wanted to bridge the gap between what is really going on in our bodies and a lack of medicine to pinpoint it before it is too late, or simply dismissed as “all in your head.” It didn’t matter to me that people wouldn’t truly know what I could see or feel for them, if it meant getting them the support they needed to live more fully and happier lives. However, life moves fast. A lot has happened over the recent years to offer you more than I had planned in a way that is challenged by many, however, validated in way too many sessions to dispute. It’s been real and I’m happy to unveil my truth, foibles, gifts, acute radar and all.

In the coming months I’ll write more here.

Here’s the former bio that I hid behind:

I am a sole proprietor, medical intuit, specialty manual therapist, and energy worker. I specialize in lymphedema, brain tissue and chemical balance in the brain, establishing ease, and in general, unraveling of symptoms. Riddles that burden my exhausted new clients who are told there is nothing wrong with them…that it is all in their heads…etc. One more recent client had intense full body inflammation for many years with sharp pain in her shoulder….When I finally felt around in her neck, my hands wrapped around an old and very large scar embedded deep in her head….I could internally see the staples….Suddenly she told me she had been five and fallen out of a tree, splitting her head on a pile of bricks. 26 staples she confirmed. Decades later this injury had become so taut that it was compressing cranial nerves, causing so much body distress. When we first released it, the hot flesh turned cool to touch instantly. She was seeing a handful of specialists weekly trying to mitigate.

You do not need to have a serious injury to come in for preventative. IF and when something does pop up, as life often likes to surprise us, preventative and regular maintenance sets us up to manage it more efficiently.

When I work on bodies, I actually see layers interlaced with threads of tissue, stagnant dark spots. Sometimes the flesh will taste metallic to my inner sensory. But to translate what I am doing is often a challenge. I employ a lot of sensory techniques that have been intimate to me my entire life, against a backdrop of more conventional and alternative therapies, now accepted more by conventional, western medicine: manual brain therapy, craniosacral therapy, myofascial/deep tissue/neuromuscular and lymphatic drainage and lymphedema therapies, and yoga instruction.

My base background in bodywork and licensing program was rooted in the fundamentals of swedish and deep tissue. I have particularly grown through a lot of physical obstacles since I was a child, and experienced many voids in obtaining the appropriate health care, when I needed help most. I formed my practice to partner with you and share my experiences and their knowledge to help you through your spiritual and body challenges. So far? It's been great.

My table experience with Lymphedema began in 2008 before it was a hot fad! In addition to completing intensive workshops for years under Chikly’s Lymphatic Studies comprehensive series and Chikly’s Brain Tissue Series, in 2011 I completed course and practicals obtaining the LLCC designation (an older designation for a lymphedema and compression certification by Chikly Institute & Renee Romero). My cumulative experience as a specialist incorporates 17 years’ table experience, discovering new ways to navigate lymphedema and lymphatic riddles of the body, and 50 years’ experience with energy / intuitive work, in addition to multiple workshop programs studying tactical neuroscience and manual therapies of cranial membranes. Many therapists claim intuition. Let’s be clear, it’s much more than that to whatever your comfort level and needs are.

My focus is always to work with each client to shape your ideal preventative bodywork plan, based on body and life priorities.  Given regular, preventative work, you can expect the long term plan of care to be highly responsive to more organic, gentler therapies that speak ease into the body and keep the spine, neck, pelvis and lymphatic systems balanced and functional. Often I will offer or request you do some deep tissues on the periphery to take the “drag” from the root issue. Then I can get in and work more efficiently and with more specificity to underlying conditions.

BEFORE MANUAL THERAPY

Always applying my intuition and deep empathy for what others are processing/persevering, I didn’t begin my professional career in bodywork. I graduated with a double major in International Affairs and French. Communication for me is an art. I grew up in the deep Northeast with a Southern family. I had to parse my word choice and communication style (as I was developing it) with great sensitivity. Later I would apply this to more challenging negotiations and in management in the luxury hospitality industry. After that, non profits. Naturally, the empathy that sits deep in my heart, mixed with intuition and communication skills, has proven to be a strong anchor for many souls and their nervous systems unraveling their story and processes. That said, respectively please honor that in a time of emergencies 24/7, I do not work on an on call basis. Office hours are M-F. I will be in touch 48 business hours. If I have not replied, please be patient. If it is an emergency please dial 911. Be safe and full of heart.
